However, they do have their differences that shoppers in South Florida should be aware of before they make the final decision about which one to buy.

Let’s compare these two models to see how they stand out from each other.

Key Differences Between the 2025 Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe, Explained

Powertrain Options

Both models have standard All-Wheel Drive (AWD) powertrains, but the number of powertrain options varies between them. Here are what the two sets of options look like:

Genesis GV80 Powertrains

  • 2.5T Standard AWD
  • 2.5T Select AWD
  • 2.5T Advanced AWD
  • 2.5T Prestige AWD
  • 3.5T Advanced AWD
  • 3.5T Prestige AWD

As you can see, the GV80 has two powertrain options spread across six trims.

The 2.5T Standard through Prestige AWD options have a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. These powertrains generate 300 horsepower and get 19 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. Meanwhile, the 3.5T Advanced and Prestige AWD powertrains have a more powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. They generate 375 horsepower and get 16 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway.

Genesis GV80 Coupe Powertrains

The GV80 Coupe also has two powertrain options, but they differ significantly:

  • 3.5T AWD
  • 3.5T E-SC MHEV AWD

As you might have guessed from these powertrains’ names, the 3.5T AWD is a gas-powered vehicle, while the 3.5T E-SC MHEV AWD is a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The gas-powered powertrain has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Like the GV80 3.5T, it generates 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque, and it gets 16 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway.

The hybrid powertrain has a 3.5-liter Twin Turbo V6 engine with a 48V E-Supercharger battery for an added performance boost. This one generates 409 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque, and it gets 18 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway.

Design

Both the GV80 and GV80 Coupe seat five passengers, feature Nappa Leather seating, and have two-line LED headlamps. But beyond those points, their designs diverge from one another. The GV80 is designed for elegance and luxury, while the GV80 Coupe has sporty styling that’s inspired by sports cars rather than luxury SUVs.

This is shown in how the GV80’s paint choices are mainly muted neutrals, metallics, and blues, while the GV80 Coupe has a brilliant Mauna Red paint option along with the other muted options. Similarly, the Nappa Leather stitching in the GV80 is monochrome to emphasize its sophistication, while the GV80 Coupe’s Nappa Leather stitching has racing-inspired contrasts to emphasize its sporty nature. These are just a few examples of the design differences between these two Genesis SUVs.

Technology

This is the realm where the GV80 and GV80 Coupe are most alike. They share several technology features that bolster safety and comfort, including the following:

  • Highway Driving Assist 2
  • Blind Spot View Monitor
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist
  • Integrated 27-inch OLED Display
  • Mood Curator

All these features and more appear in both vehicles to keep you safe and comfortable as you drive your Genesis around South Florida.
