There are three different electric motor setups you can choose from for the Genesis GV60, depending on how much power you want out of your electric SUV:
- A single electric motor with 225 horsepower, rear-wheel drive
- A dual electric motor pairing with 314 horsepower, all-wheel drive
- A larger dual electric motor pairing with 429 horsepower, all-wheel drive
The last of the three electric powertrains also comes with a Boost Mode to increase the overall horsepower to 483 for a short time. When properly equipped, the Genesis GV60 can tow up to 2,000 lbs. Lastly, because there’s no delay from combustion to acceleration, electric vehicles often have quick 0-60 times; the 2025 Genesis GV60 can hit 0-60 in just 3.7 seconds.

Regardless of which trim or powertrain setup you choose, every Genesis GV60 comes powered by the same 77.4-kWh battery. However, which powertrain you choose will have an effect on the total Genesis GV60 range.

- Dual motor (first version), AWD: 264 miles
- Dual motor (second version), AWD: 248 miles
It’s no surprise that the more power you get, the less return on the Genesis GV60’s range you’ll experience. Some might value maximum range and choose the single motor option. Some near Fort Lauderdale may want all the power they can get their hands on. Others might opt for the Goldilocks option of the less powerful AWD powertrain for a combination of power and range that’s just right.
Genesis GV60 Charging in the Miami Climate

As such, we’re no strangers to the comforts of air conditioning; however, turning the AC on high will have an effect on the Genesis GV60’s range, so keep that in mind, though it isn’t so drastic as to avoid electric vehicles in Miami. In fact, where EV batteries tend to struggle most is in cold climates. Fortunately, we don’t have that problem.
When it comes to charging the GV60 in the Miami climate, there are a few tips and tricks to remember:
- Charge during cooler hours, such as the evenings or the mornings
- Park in structures or at least in the shade whenever possible
- Set the battery to only charge up to 80% to preserve its lifespan
- Keep DC fast charging to a minimum, opting for Level 1 and Level 2 chargers at home or in public
All of these efforts are to avoid the battery from overheating. It may seem like a bit of work, but it’s no more than having to plan which gas station on the way has the cheapest prices.
