Genesis GV60 vs. GV70 vs. GV80 at Braman Gensis in Miami

The market for crossovers and SUVs has been hot for years, decades even. In fact, when it comes to luxury vehicles, SUVs account for over 60% of all sales in America each year. Of course, their popularity has also paved the way for automakers to keep pumping out new models, which makes finding the best luxury SUV a daunting task, to say the least.

Instead of researching dozens of auto brands and their lineups, you can just keep things simple and stick to one: Genesis. With options like the electric GV60, the mid-size GV70 and the 3-row GV80, Genesis has an option for just about everyone in the market for a good luxury SUV.

The GV60 is the first all-electric Genesis SUV. It also happens to be one of the best electric luxury SUVs you can buy in the States.

Have range anxiety? Take a GV60 pill, and you'll essentially be cured. That's because the new Genesis GV60 Advanced gets 248 miles of driving range in a single charge up. Best of all, a 5-minute charge on a 350kW station nets 60 miles of range, so you don't have to interrupt your trip. An 18-minute charge boosts the 77.4-kWh GV60 battery up from 10% to 80%, too, if you need to stop for lunch.

As a truly revolutionary new electric vehicle, the 2023 Genesis GV60 boasts truly revolutionary technology. Most notable is Vehicle to Load (V2L) charging, which enables you to use the car's battery to power smaller items, such as tablets and smartphones. This is exclusive to the GV60 lineup and not found on other Genesis SUVs.

Laps of luxury wish they were seated within GV60's futuristic, ultra-swanky and uber-comfortable cabin. It's got two 12.3-inch HD screens, a floating center console, and a stunning illuminated Crystal Sphere shifter to make your passengers' eyes glaze over (in the best way). That Crystal Sphere shimmers a brilliant blue when the GV60 is off; when the car zaps to life, the Sphere rotates around. If that weren't enough, the GV60 also has Fingerprint Authentication push-start, a head-up display, and a Vision Roof with a power sunshade to build an open-air atmosphere inside.

Exclusive to the GV60 is an available 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen Premium Audio system. It features a 1400-watt amplifier and Dirac Acoustic Signature audio, and it creates an immersive listening experience in every seat.

Upgraded tech like Highway Driving Assist 2 and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 are also only available on the GV60.

2022 Genesis GV70

When compared to the Acura RDX and other luxury SUVs in the segment, the Genesis GV70 shines as brightly as the sun. In fact, as one of the most affordable luxury crossovers you can buy, it might outshine the sun.

Genesis's next-generation infotainment system is a perfect complement to GV70's standard 14.5-inch HD touchscreen. It seamlessly incorporates navigation and smartphone connectivity, while also working through the cloud to provide you with nearly instantaneous directions and data.

The available 18-speaker Lexicon high-performance audio system is exclusive to the GV70.

The GV70 features Genesis's full range of driver-assist and safety systems, including Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Safe Exit Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, to name a few.

Compared to the GV80, the new GV70 is definitely the sportier SUV. Its Sport+ Mode turns it into an athletic dynamo. Available paddle shifters kick into gears without strain, too, making it a fun and energizing daily driver.

2023 Genesis GV80

2023 Genesis GV80 at Braman Geneis in Miami
Few large luxury SUVs can compete with the Genesis GV80. Not even the extremely popular Audi Q5 matches up well against GV80 and its chic and stylish threads, first-rate tech and 5-star safety.

Only available in the 3-row GV80 is a 21-speaker Lexicon sound system. This offers 1050 watts of power through its 21 speakers and subwoofers, which are strategically inserted in 17 different locations within the cabin. Perfectly tuned sound, no matter where you're situated, is the result.

Being the only 7-passenger SUV available in the Genesis roster, the new GV80 offers the brand's only 3-zone climate control system. All rows have access to their own climate and air-flow settings, which is the cherry on top of GV80's available Heated and Ventilated 2nd-row seats and optional 2nd-row wireless device charger, the latter of which is only available in the GV80.

When it comes to safety, the GV80 offers first-rate protection. It comes with the full range of Genesis safety gear, including Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert, plus a segment-first Center Airbag, all of which allowed it to earn a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS.

Simply put, if you need a more powerful luxury SUV, the Genesis GV80 beats both the GV70 and electric GV60. It has more seats and space inside, of course, as well as a 6,000-pound towing rating (the GV70 is capped at 3,500 pounds).
